As of May 13, 2019, Paige is no longer an agent here at Lake Martin Voice Realty. I am so excited and happy for her. After much preparation and prayer, she has moved her license to her own team ! It is called (fittingly) The Love Lake Martin Team of JRHBW Realty, Inc. I say fittingly because one of Paige’s many brilliant marketing ideas is her Love Lake Martin show on Facebook and YouTube.
Paige has been a great influence on me ever since her arrival. I say great influence but really what I mean is a source of jealousy on my part. She is constantly coming up with marketing ideas that spark not joy but envy in me —> (the simple yet memorable name of) Love Lake Martin —> (mixing business with boating on) pontoon boat cruises —> (I told her it wouldn’t work but she’s killing it with) long form video —> I could go on and on. Why didn’t I think of these things?
Seriously, Paige is a fixture in the real estate market here at Lake Martin because of her enthusiasm, tenacity, and “let’s give it a shot”-ness. I know that these qualities will continue to serve the community and her clients well.
The good thing about this goodbye is that it is not really goodbye. Paige and I will continue to work together, hopefully on many, many, more transactions. I always tell my buyers and sellers that when we are in the middle of a negotiation, that it really helps when I can trust the agent on the other side. In that respect, I look forward to having another agent that I trust out there! Let’s face it, no matter how quaint and laid back Lake Martin feels, sometimes it can get a tad “Wild West” around here. A dear friend has convinced me of this fact. Ok, ok, I will admit… that was another thing that Paige was right about, too!
Many of you know that Paige’s husband, Brian Dodson, was also here at Lake Martin Voice Realty for about ten minutes. I kid, of course. It was a little longer than that. While writing this post, I realized that I never wrote one for Brian. Sorry, BD! Equal congratulations and Bon Voyages are due to Brian. He is now with Harris Doyle Homes and is the Listing Agent on a great new neighborhood, Talisi Cove. Brian is one of the nicest guys I know, and I am counting on that when I ask his forgiveness in my tardy adios!
Lastly, another big influence Paige has had on me is convincing me of the need for personal sales goals and (the occasional) Company Meeting.
The “goal thing” should been easy for me. I am huge into goals and performance tracking in just about every other aspect of my life. I track the Lake Martin market obsessively. I track the count of wild birds that I see around the lake in an app. I track my attempts at exercising. I track the different IPAs that I have tried. And work wise, I started out as a pure numbers guy. My first job out of college was as a staff accountant at Russell Corporation. I worked about 28 rungs below (new resident in heaven
Despite such a beginning to my working career, Paige made me realize that I had a big hole in my game when it came to goals. I am still not where I need to be, but I will forever be indebted to her for convicting me on that subject.
So, dear reader, when you see Paige and Brian around Lake Martin, or on the web, or wherever, please pat them on their backs and wish them some much deserved congratulations. This new step they are taking has been in the works for quite a while, and they are excited to be executing on it. I am excited for them, too!
