The Home / Lot Continuum – when spouses disagree about which Lake Martin house they love.
I always say that pricing homes at Lake Martin is on a continuum. On one extreme of the continuum you have an awesome lot and view, but the home is a fixer upper. On the other extreme of the continuum, the home is tiptop, brand new ready to be featured in Southern Living. But the lot may be smaller or the view might be smaller.
So what’s a couple to do?
In times, like these, I try to encourage the couple to focus on their overall goals for owning a Lake Martin home. For instance, what do you plan to do there?
Do you like riding in the boat? Fishing? Sunning? Visiting local restaurants? Just hanging out? What?
Then I ask them to consider their timeline for all these things. Sometimes thinking about goals of how to use something instead of thinking about features helps everybody come to a happy medium.
These are the types of things that are not taught in real estate school, but I feel are critical for being an effective agent here at Lake Martin. Over the years, I have been blessed to help hundreds of people sell and buy their waterfront property here.
I would love to help you or anyone you know! If you feel like we might be a good fit, please contact me at the number at the top of the page or email me here.
