Talisi Cove
Talisi Cove is a newer development on Lake Martin, opening the doors of its first waterfront homes in 2019. The community was designed by at Nequette Architecture and developed by Harris Doyle Homes of Birmingham, Alabama. Talisi Cove homes have an Eclectic, Alabama address, and are located on the south, or Kowaliga Bay side of Lake Martin.
Talisi Cove is popular for buyers looking for a relatively new home in an “older” area of the lake, and who enjoy the aesthetic features of an architect-touched home. You can expect upgraded finishes and floor plans that live well for lake life.
All the waterfront homes have private docks, and the off-water homes have deeded boat slips on the dock located in front of the community pool. I have seen a lot of pools/clubhouses, but the one at Talisi Cove is truly Instagram-worthy. It’s a beautiful amenity that you’ll actually enjoy using. The pool area has a huge lake view, and it really sets this neighborhood apart from other new-build communities.
The neighborhood boat ramp is an amenity that I think lots of people don’t fully appreciate. You and your guests can put your boat in and take it out without the stress of navigating a public boat launch - that’s a really nice feature.
Off-water boat storage is available inside Talisi Cove to home owners as well.
By water, Talisi Cove homes are quick boat rides to waterfront locations like Kowaliga Restaurant, Church in the Pines, The Social, Anchor Bay Marina, and popular landmarks like Martin Dam and Chimney Rock to the east, and Kowaliga Bridge to the north.
By car, Talisi Cove is a short drive to the Lake Martin Amphitheater for concerts and 4th of July fireworks viewing, and the restaurants at Russell Crossroads, including Catherine’s Market, Fanny Goldmine Diner, and SpringHouse.
Fun fact - Talisi Cove is built on the site of a former Boy Scout camp called Camp Talisi. If you talk to old timers at Lake Martin, many remember going to jamborees there. Incidentally, Talisi is pronounced the same as the City of Tallassee - both are the same word from the Muskogee branch of the Creek Indian tribe.
