“Flinking” is a combination of floating and drinking, and it is an art form here at Lake Martin. This home might be the perfect flinking setup for you if you’d like a place to relax for the summer. In this blog, I’ll be touring 100 Tomahawk Road and telling you about the area.
Now, look, you need to flink responsibly, right? You need to be safe with your beverages. But seriously, I really like this setup for this house because the sun sets behind us. And so, you also have a nice calm cove right here. That means that you’re not going to be having boats just come by 90 mph and zipping by your dock.
You have the perfect layout here. You have the living room and kitchen on the main level as you come in from the street. Then, your bedrooms are down below on the lake level. So, you can just walk right out to the lake from there.
This home is located right at the back of Cooper slough, which is in between Chimney Rock and Chuck’s on the south side of Lake Martin. So, it’s a really convenient location close to everything, because it’s in sort of the middle of the lake if you look at a lake map.
Cooper slough is great because it’s not out in the main water, but it’s a pretty big area that’s great for skiing, tubing, wakeboarding and surfing. It’s a spot that you can get out and do water activities without having to get to the main lake.
You’re also about 10 minutes to Chuck’s, 5 minutes to The Ridge Marina, and 10 minutes to Chimney Rock. Then, if you wanted to run north and go to Peanut Point, you’re probably about 20 minutes away from there. You are also 25 minutes away from the BoonDocks at Bay Pine.
And of course, on the east, you’re also near a lot of things by land. You are about 15 minutes away from Niffer’s and Oskar’s. Also, our favorite Mexican restaurant close by is Burritos.
Another thing I like about this house is it has multiple spots you can hang out and watch the water. So, if you do have younger kids or friends or family members that are out swimming and you might not want to get in the water yourself, then you can still watch and make sure they’re okay.
You have a stone patio, a deck, and the main deck where the kitchen is. So, just multiple spots to sit back in the shade and watch the lake.
If renting is your thing, this house has rental history. Let me know if you’d like that. But if renting is not your thing, that’s fine, too. You don’t have to do it.
Another thing is you have access to McMillan Park at Indian Shores. McMillan Park has a boat ramp, a couple of swimming docks, a pavilion. So, it’s nice to have that pretty close by in case you ever need to launch a boat.
Also, this area is great for walking. When I’m showing houses in the morning, I see a lot of walkers throughout the area, and that’s always a good sign.
If you think 100 Tomahawk Road might be a good fit for you, and you are ready to relax, kick your feet up and either hang out on the deck or hop in the lake, then let me know!
