Ricky’s is Officially Open at Lake Martin

Big news on the lake! Ricky’s is officially open at Lake Martin, and it’s a major upgrade for the Kowaliga side of the lake. After watching this new location take shape for quite some time, it’s exciting to finally see the doors open.

Located near Castaway Island Road, between Anchor Bay and Kowaliga, Ricky’s at Red Hill is already positioned to become a go-to stop for locals and lake visitors alike. It’s convenient, easy to access, and noticeably larger than the original location.

Multiple Gas Pumps

The first thing you notice when you pull up is the size of the building and the modern layout. This new Ricky’s features multiple regular gas pumps along with diesel, giving travelers plenty of room to fuel up quickly. The exterior is clean and sharp, and it immediately feels like a step up from what many longtime Lake Martin folks remember.

Hot Food, Deli, and Fresh Meats

Inside, the expansion really shows. Just like the original store, Ricky’s will offer made-to-order food and fresh options. But now, there will be much more space and variety. They will have Pizza Hut, Boar’s Head deli meats, a meat-and-three hot bar, and a full meat cutting area with fresh sliced and cut meats. This means you can stop in for lunch, grab dinner on the way back to the house, or pick up quality meats for the grill without having to drive far.

In addition to hot food and meats, Ricky’s is also adding a produce section along with everyday grocery essentials. It feels less like a simple convenience store and more like a small neighborhood market, which is something many areas around the lake truly appreciate.

On top of that, there is a massive ice cream selection, including two full sections of Blue Bell. For many Lake Martin locals, Blue Bell alone is reason enough to make a stop.

Liquor Store, Wine, Draft Beer, and Cigars

Another major addition is the dedicated liquor and cigar area. Ricky’s will offer a wide range of spirits including bourbon, tequila, rum, and more. There will also be a solid wine selection and cold canned cocktails like High Noon. There will also be draft beer sold by the gallon. The cigar shop features a full humidor and a variety of cigar brands. This gives customers everything from everyday favorites to higher-end options.

For those who grew up visiting the original Ricky’s, this new store feels like a big evolution while still holding onto the same local roots. It’s bigger, nicer, and more capable, but it still feels like Ricky’s.
