Windover Neighborhood Information

Windover is a small Russell Lands’ waterfront neighborhood with homes and lots for sale that was built in the late 1980’s on Lake Martin. It’s tucked between Windermere and The Ridge – two other Russell Lands’ developments, and has a mixture of folks who live there year round and part time.

History of Windover Neighborhood on Lake Martin

Windover is a small Russell Lands’ waterfront neighborhood with homes and lots for sale that was built in the late 1980’s on Lake Martin.  It’s tucked between Windermere and The Ridge – two other Russell Lands’ developments, and has a mixture of folks who live there year round and part time.

All homes here have an Alexander City address and city utilities.  By car, take Highway 63 south from Alex City, and turn left onto Windermere Road.  The Ridge and Windermere, also Russell Lands neighborhoods, are also accessed from Windermere Road.

Windover lots are large and flat and wooded – usually it’s hard to see the homes from the road, and sometimes even from the water.  Windover, like Windermere, is a non-pretentious neighborhood: 80’s cool with lots of room, lots of trees, homes where your friends lived in high school. There aren’t any neighborhood amenities because back in the 80’s, the Lake was the amenity.
