At Lake Martin, insulating a new home or a new addition to an existing home may not be the eye candy of home construction but it is very important. Bryan Jones, an architect with Jones Pierce Architects and Doug Furhman, builder / owner of Southern Traditions Construction take time to describe the process of insulating with Zip System® and other ideas to have your house at Lake Martin comfortable even in the middle of the summer. Enjoy this video I shot at a home they are building in the  Kennebec neighborhood at Lake Martin.

Zip System® insulated sheathing is a layer of air barrier that helps make the home air tight. A blower door test will be done after the doors and windows are installed to check for any leaks.

Consider installing a dehumidifier to control the humidity and outside air. Or install an all-in-one HVAC unit.

Bryan and Doug are happy to help you determine the viability of various HVAC systems and insulation.
