September has been an outstanding month for Lake Martin real estate sales. Through the end of September 370 waterfront homes have sold – this includes homes, condos and townhomes.

This year – 2020, with all of its craziness, is the best year ever for Lake Martin real estate sales. Yes, you read that right. In 2019, 369 homes were sold for the entire year and we have beaten that as of the end of September with 370. Lot sales are going well too. Through the end of September we have sold 97 waterfront lots beating out all of the previous years.

This summer has really been a historic run for waterfront home sales. I am running out of superlative adjectives for this year. June tied the best ever month. Then July, 2020, set a new bar. August beat June to become the second best, and September tied August. I have started thinking of these four months as “The Mount Rushmore” of Lake Martin real estate sales. The image of Mount Rushmore inspired me to try and do a little joke about that, but since we are in a presidential election year, it seems like many people are super sensitive about presidential stuff.

So for this month’s report, I settled on ranking these home sales months and comparing them to legendary “guitar heroes.” I am a fan of classic rock and this was fun for me. I hope you enjoy it, too.
