There are many ways to travel around on Lake Martin. Of course, you can travel by car, but you can also travel by boat to reach your destination on the lake. How long a boat ride is from where you are to your destination may be a little difficult to figure out. So, I am going to help you out and show you two ways you can calculate your boat travel time.
The first way to know how long a boat ride on Lake Martin might take is through Google Maps. Most everyone has access to Google Maps on their phone. It is one of the best ways to calculate the travel time from where you are to your destination. One feature that is very helpful is that you can drop points from where you are to where you want to go. Google maps will then calculate the amount of time it will take to get to your destination. Another way to know how long a boat ride is on Lake Martin is by downloading the free Lake Martin Voice App. You can share your location with the app, and this will show a blue dot that represents your location. You can then go to the “Eats” section or the “Marinas” section of the app to see how to get to the location you are looking for. A rule of thumb that I follow is 30 mph on a boat equals 2 minutes per mile and 20 mph equals 3 minutes per mile. For example, it takes you 5 miles going 30 mph to get from where you are to your destination. Therefore, it will take you 10 minutes to reach your destination by boat.
