I’m John Coley with Lake Martin Voice Realty, and today, I’m going to do a product review of the Pet Hey F900+ Collar. This is a wireless fence receiver collar that I think would be a good product for Lake Martin, so we’re going to see how this thing works.
The first topic in this product review of the Pet Hey Collar is about what all comes in the box. In the box, there is a good training guide and user manual, the main controller, and the collar unit. It also comes with the charging cable, the contact points, the test light tool, and little boundary flags.
There is also a heavy remote holder in the box that you can set up, and it can have its own little stand. The collar itself is a rubbery plastic and is probably 24 inches long. It comes with two sizes of contact points. What you’re supposed to do is take the contact points and the main collar and screw it in.
The little test tool is what you can use to see where the boundaries are and make sure the collar is working. The boundary flags you’ll stick in the yard to kind of show the pet where you need to have a fence. Then, there’s the charging cord for the battery for the collar.
The training guide is just what you’d expect. It takes you through how to set it up. Then, it goes through the two main modes: the fence system and the keep out system.
The user manual gives you the technical stuff. It gives you the training mode and then the two user modes. The two that you’re going to use the most are the fence mode and the forbidden mode. The fence mode keeps them inside the fence, and the forbidden mode makes sure your dog doesn’t go anywhere that you don’t want them to go.
The boundary flags are really small. If it were me, I probably would go to a home supply store where they sell flags. They’re a lot bigger than this if you needed more. I probably would just train the dog on one set of flags just so they can know.
We tested it, and it worked. My dog, Spanky, is already trained on an underground fence collar, and so he knows when the collar beeps that he needs to go away. We tested this outside, and my one idea for this company is make it waterproof. I used two ziplock sandwich bags so we could just put it outside and not have to worry about it getting wet.
When I get ready, I’m going to turn it on and put it where we want Spanky to stay out. A tip that l’ve noticed is when you put it on your pet always just turn it on the training mode. This is so that you both know the collar and the sender are powered on. Therefore, it doesn’t beep against the dog and give them a false recognition. Then, once you set it up where you want it to be, you can turn it on either the keep out mode or fence mode.
We’ve really enjoyed the Pet Hey F900+ Collar. We ended up just testing the keep out mode, and it works so well! We just started using it, and we used it pretty much all summer here at Lake Martin. To purchase this product, visit petheylife.com.
