If you’re a person that wants a Lake Martin water experience, but you don’t want to pay for the full price of a waterfront home, the Hideaway might be a good answer for you. This is because they’ve got different levels of homes that are in different price ranges, but they all come with deeded boat slips.
The Hideaway, located in StillWaters very well could be a good option for you. One thing you may notice about The Hideaway is they sort of have tiers that go up the hill. So, your price ranges vary from the homes that sit right on the water and behind the boardwalk then on the next level by the pool and up the hill from there.
Like all things in Lake Martin, it all has to do with the view and the proximity to the water. Therefore, the homes that are right on the water just behind the boardwalk, most of those have sold in the $700,000s and some in the $900,000s. Keep in mind because there’s only 34 houses here, I have to go back a couple of years to get comps. So, it’s not like these turn over every single year that fast.
Then, as you go back one tier, those go to the high $600,000s. As you go up the hill, those are from the low to mid $600,000s to the low to mid $500,000s. When you get back up close to the gate, a couple three or four years ago, I think one sold for like $399,000.
So logically, as you go up the hill away from the water, it goes down in price. In general, we can say at the time of writing this, about mid $700,000s to about $400,000.
They also have some on-site dry boat storage and storage units that are done which is really unique. Those sell in the $100s. That’s pretty unique for a neighborhood inside StillWaters.
The Hideaway feels a niche here in that it gives you more privacy than a condo but also the community factor and a lower cost than just a true waterfront home.
Also, what I always point out to my buyers, the condo comes with a deeded boat slip. That means the boat slip comes with the deeded home. A lot of the look and feel inside The Hideaway are similar on the exterior. They also do have an HOA.
I talked to some owners while visiting The Hideaway, and they have a waterfront house with a great water view. They also mentioned how they like the community and live there full time. This is interesting because only about 20% of waterfront home owners on Lake Martin live here full-time.
They know a lot of people inside The Hideaway. It’s more private then condo living but probably a little bit less private than if you just had your house on your own lot. But, it also has a lot of community aspect benefits too such as the pool.
You also have access to all the other StillWaters amenities like their pool and tennis and pickle ball courts. Obviously, they also have golf and all that stuff. If you have a golf cart, you can even ride it right down to the dock and unload your stuff.
The Hideaway has about 12 acres. It’s a neighborhood within a neighborhood inside StillWaters. This means you can ride your golf cart to Prime Steakhouse that’s inside the golf course. Also, The Landing at Harbor Pointe is a brand new restaurant. You can also go to the Daiquiri Bar.
The marina inside StillWaters is huge. Harbor Pointe Marina sells, stores, and rents boats. You can also get gas there. So, that’s a full-time, full-service marina. Because it’s on the east side of Lake Martin, The Hideaway is close to Auburn and the Georgia side of the lake.
As you come out of the gates of StillWaters, you’re also close to restaurants like Lake Martin Pizza, Niffer’s, and Oskar’s. Of course, you’re close to a Dollar General. I mean, where in Alabama are you not close to a Dollar General?
