Best Public Lake Access at Lake Martin Alabama

If you’re looking for public access to Lake Martin, I think one of the best public places with lake access is the DARE Power Park. It’s located on the northeast side of Lake Martin down Young’s Ferry Road. So, if you’re looking at a map of Lake Martin, it’s going to be located on the east side of Lake Martin northeast in between Dadeville and the south side of Lake Martin.

The good thing about the DARE Power Park is it has lots of different options for you.

It’s got this beach area to hang out at and lots of picnic tables and pavilions where you can relax and eat your lunch. There’s also a lot of grills set up there as well.

Young’s Ferry Boat Ramp

Another thing I like and a reason I recommend DARE Power Park is it has a boat ramp that’s right there. It’s called the Young’s Ferry boat ramp. It’s literally right next door. So for people that are just visiting or may be renting here off water, I always recommend to come here.

You can trailer your boat here. The park can kind of serve as your base for the day because you can park your trailer, then you can boat around. If you want to come back this way and hang out, grill out or whatever at the park, that’s a great day for it. That’s why I think it’s really one of the most perfect spots you can do if you want to visit Lake Martin.

Pavilions and Docks at DARE Power Park

There are several pavilions, and they have docks behind them as well as paved walking trails around the park. For the kids, there is a cool playground area.

Check out their hours of operation by CLICKING HERE. They also have rules like no alcohol, no fireworks and firearms, and no pets. So, be sure to follow the rules.

Close to Town

Another good thing about the location of the DARE Power Park is if you don’t want to cook out, if you don’t want to grill out, you’re really close to downtown Dadeville and you’re close to Highway 280. This means  you’re about 25 minutes from Alexander City.

If you don’t want to cook around here, you can always end your day here, trailer up and trailer out, and then go to a restaurant because there’s several within about 15 minutes.
