My wife and I recently stayed at one of the most unique spots I’ve ever stayed in the Lake Martin area – The Destination Resort! We enjoyed hiking some nearby trails, kayaking down Sandy Creek and fly fishing Sandy Creek.

The Destination Resort is a glamping resort located on Sandy Creek near Lake Martin – between downtown Dadeville and the lake. It is only about 30 minutes from Auburn so it would be an awesome place to stay on game weekends.

So what is a glamping resort? Well it is luxurious camping in a tent. But these large, canvas tents feel like a condo on the inside and look like a tent or a treehouse on the outside. The Destination offers four choices of glamps: two 370 sq ft one bedroom/one bath tents and two 650 sq ft two bedroom / two bath tents.

The Destination also offers the Sandy Creek Lodge for special events such as birthday parties, corporate retreats, family reunions, wine tastings or jam sessions!

The owners, Skip and Rhonda, came to Lake Martin from Nashville and wanted to create a unique destination experience. Their plans include guests enjoying nature around Sandy Creek, offering couples retreats, cooking classes, songwriting events, live music and more.
