How to Find Lot Lines Around Lake Martin Alabama

So, how do you spot survey stakes at the lake? In this blog, I am going to tell you how to find the lot lines around Lake Martin.

Most of the surveys and the pins were placed 20 to 30 years ago on Lake Martin before you had the internet and before everything was on PDF. So, it’s interesting sometimes to go and look. 

It can be a treasure hunt sometimes, but they’re incredibly helpful when you can find them. This is because Alabama Power owns a lot of the waterfront of Lake Martin, and they also own tons of land around houses. 

Often, you will see these survey stakes up. You need to know what they look like and what they can possibly give you as hints and clues about the property size. So, that’s what we’re looking for.

As an example, one of the original Alabama Power stakes you will see has little line that they stamped. Obviously that shouldn’t be relied on totally, but it does give you a general idea. Also, a lot of times they stamp the lot number on it as well. 

In Conclusion

I hope that was helpful, but the best thing to do is to get your own current survey. You should also let your surveyor find the lot lines for you and put the stakes out for you.
