Polar Plunge Returns at Kowaliga Restaurant
Winter at Lake Martin always comes with a few traditions that locals look forward to. One of these is the Polar Plunge at Kowaliga Restaurant. On January 17, 2026, brave participants and enthusiastic spectators will once again gather on the shoreline for a day that celebrates community, fun, and a little cold-weather courage. It’s an event that proves lake life doesn’t slow down when temperatures drop.
A Cold Dip for a Good Cause
The upcoming Polar Plunge at Kowaliga Restaurant invites participants to take a quick dash into the chilly waters of Lake Martin, all in good fun and with plenty of encouragement from the crowd.
The Lake Martin Young Professionals are hosting this event for a good cause. Lake Martin’s Polar Plunge helps support Lake Martin Resource Association‘s mission of keeping the lake clean, safe and prosperous. So, if you want to support Lake Martin, this is a good way to do it.
Event Details
There will be food trucks, live music, and more at this event. There is also a Costume Contest and a Dash for the Cash both with a $100 cash prize!
Whether you’re plunging yourself or cheering from the dock, the energy of the event is what makes it special. It’s less about how long you stay in the water and more about sharing the experience with friends, neighbors, and fellow lake lovers.
