There’s nothing quite like football season at Lake Martin. You’ve got Auburn and Alabama playing on Saturdays, the weather is finally starting to cool off, and there are still plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy the lake. But if you’re not watching the game at your own lake house, where should you go to watch football around Lake Martin?
I’ve put together a few places around the lake where you can grab something to eat, watch some football, and maybe even enjoy a view of the water. Some are right on the lake, while others are familiar local restaurants. And I saved one of my favorite options for last.
If you’re looking for a place to watch football and still enjoy being on Lake Martin, check out Lake Martin Beach Club. They’ve got the games playing on 100 inch TVs, plus a waterfront view that’s pretty hard to beat. That’s a nice combination if you ask me.
I think it’s pretty neat that you can sit by the water and watch football at the same time. You don’t have to choose between spending the afternoon at the lake and keeping up with the game. At Lake Martin Beach Club, you can do a little of both.

Maybe you’re already out on the boat and don’t feel like heading back to the house just because the game is starting. Bluff’s Daiquiri Bar at Harbor Pointe Marina is another place to consider. It’s right on the water, so you can work a little football into your lake day.
That’s one of the things I like about having restaurants and bars around Lake Martin that you can reach by boat. You can spend part of the day cruising around and then stop somewhere to catch the game. No need to make the whole day revolve around football unless you want to.
You know how it goes when you’re trying to get a group together to watch football. Half the people want to watch every single play, and the other half just wants to go somewhere fun to eat. That’s where Niffer’s Place comes in.
Niffer’s has been a familiar name around Lake Martin for a long time. It’s a good option when you want to get everybody together for some food and football. And if your team isn’t doing so well, at least you’ve still got dinner.
Here’s one that adds a little something extra to game day. Lake Martin Pizza has been offering Game Day Squares, so you can eat some pizza, watch football, and have a chance to win a prize at both the Alexander City and Dadeville locations. That’s not a bad way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
According to their promotion, squares are $5 each, and you can join until the opening kickoff. There’s a $20 Lake Martin Pizza gift card for the halftime winner, and the end of game winner gets the pot. You’ve got to be there to win, and if nobody wins, the pot rolls over to the next week.
I’d check with Lake Martin Pizza to make sure they’re still running the promotion before heading over. Even without the squares, pizza and football go together pretty well. Add a group of friends, and you’ve got a good excuse to get out of the house.
Now, after mentioning all these restaurants, I’ve got one more suggestion. Your own lake house might still be the best sports bar around Lake Martin. Think about it: TV on the porch, something cooking on the grill, and the boat tied up at the dock.
You can have friends over, watch the game, and nobody has to fight traffic after the fourth quarter. If the game gets out of hand, you can always go down to the dock or take a boat ride.
I talk a lot about boating, fishing, and all the things people enjoy doing around Lake Martin during the summer. But fall is a great time to be here, too. The lake is still here, the restaurants are still here, and now you’ve got football to add to the mix.
So if you’re looking for somewhere to watch Auburn, Alabama, or another team this weekend, give one of these places a try. Be sure to check their hours and football schedules before you go, since those can change throughout the season. And if I’ve left off your favorite place to watch football around Lake Martin, let me know because I’d like to hear about it.
And if you’ve been thinking about buying a lake house where you can host your own football Saturdays, I’d be glad to help you find the right spot. I spend a lot of time helping people understand the different areas of Lake Martin and what makes each one unique.
